If you’re in the mood for some warmth, go for the Caldo De Pollo— a freshly prepared chicken soup brimming with wholesome vegetables, served alongside fluffy Mexican rice. This comforting bowl comes in at reasonable US$16.49 and is an ideal pick for chilly Chicago days.
El Mariachi also shines in its beverages, offering freshly squeezed orange juice and aromatic coffee to elevate your meal experience. “ This a cool little Mexican restaurant. We did take out for our daughter who ordered the green chili chicken burrito. It was large and perfectly done. She ordered refried beans that were smooth and creamy. Would love to come back. ”
“ I went for an impromptu date night because it's Margarita Day. I called to see how long the wait was greeted by Anita. She said the come on. We came and was greeted by Gallo. Between Anita and Gallo I don't know which one was better. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE, FOOD AND DRINK. My guy wanted to try the Torta. Anita made it happen. The steak was tender, well seasoned and tender. The margaritas/peach was phenomenal. This is our new spot. ”
“ Traveling for work and ordered pick up. Anita let me know it would be a few minutes. She was very friendly! When I sat at the table to wait, she prepared a glass of water and lit a candle for me. Excellent, warm service and, of course, great food! ”
“ I love this place!!!!! . It’s so cute! They have a small, family owned feel and the food is out of this world good. Large portions and a great price. It gets busy so I try to go on off times. Check it out if you live in the neighborhood or are visiting Chicago. I give it a 5 Jerry (the pigeon) gives in a 4.8 ”
“ This is the cutest little Mexican restaurant!! We went for cinco de mayo and even though it was full, they made sure to get us sat as fast as they could. Service was spot on!! Everyone working was so sweet & gave exceptional service. Horchata 10/10, chicken burrito 10/10, service 10/10. Lots of food for the price. We will be back!! Thank you! ”
“ This place is super cozy - the food and service are phenomenal. My pictures aren’t great bc the light at the restaurant is pretty dim. We ordered the Oaxaca sopes appetizer, the plantain mole enchiladas and a sampler. Everything was scrumptious! ”
“ El Mariachi in Lakeview is an absolute gem for authentic Mexican cuisine. I spent about 35 on dinner, starting with their famous tableside guac—made fresh with avocado oil and packed with flavor. For the main course, I had the mole enchiladas, which were rich and savory, just like abuela used to make. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, adorned with folk art that gives it a genuine Mexican cantina vibe. They also boast an impressive selection of over 150 tequilas, perfect for sipping or crafting the ultimate margarita. Whether you're a local or just visiting, El Mariachi is a must-visit spot for a true taste of Mexico in Chicago. ”
“ Went here for a quick bite. It was busy and they don't have a lot of seating but we were able to get a table. The food was unique in a way that was different than Mexican food I've had, but was definitely very good. It's always good to try something I've had in the past, but prepared differently using different spices. The staff was friendly, and service was good considering how busy it was. If you're in the area I would recommend eating there. ”
